This conference is the premier event for GPs, shared care workers, nurses and other primary care staff, specialists, commissioners and researchers who are interested in and involved in the management of people with drug and alcohol problems in primary care. As always, we will be covering important issues for the field, including measures to reduce drug and alcohol-related deaths, behavioral health dependencies, severe multiple disadvantages including homelessness, what the latest research is telling us, and much more.
Addiction caused by psychoactive substances (drugs and alcohol) is the scourge of modern society, not only in Ukraine but also in the world. Millions of Ukrainians abuse alcohol and use drugs to escape from reality. As a result, the demographic situation is deteriorating. People who use psychoactive substances shorten their own lives and – by provoking constant conflicts in families – those of their relatives.
This also leads to crime. In search of money to buy drugs or alcohol, an addicted person breaks the law. According to police data, every third property crime, theft, robbery, and robbery is caused by the fact that the person committing it is an addict – he or she wants to use alcohol or drugs and breaks the law to do so.
What you will find at our conference:
